The use case is strong, but moving off of WPA3 being required for 6GHz is also quite strong, and I don’t see that going away… ever.
This all could be preempted by a ‘Enterprise’ vs ‘Home’ tag on Wi-Fi gear… Or it could have been preempted by having 802.1X capability required for Wi-Fi certification. But those are both water under the bridge.
At this point, the difficulty would be more technical, though solvable, since multiple vendors have solutions of a sort. So now it is more political to get vendors with varying interests to somehow agree on a ‘standard’.
