I met Anil perhaps 15 years ago, when we were doing the first Wi-Fi Stress Test in Utah, and he was there representing the HP entrant. Time flies. Anil was the sole presentar at #MFD14 for Wyebot.
The most important update from Anil Gupta's WyeBot session: they added SCEP support to their vendor-neutral assurance sensor before most of the Wi-Fi industry has admitted what's coming. If you're not already planning how you'll manage a 47-day SSL certificate renewal cycle by 2029, this is your wake-up call.
SCEP, Built for the 47-Day Cert Future
CA/Browser Forum baseline rules drop SSL certificate maximum validity to 47 days by 2029. Manual renewal at that cadence doesn't scale, not for a single team, and not for thousands of EAP-TLS endpoints. SCEP is the answer, and most Wi-Fi vendors are quiet about it.
WyeBot baked SCEP into their sensor profiles. Point the sensor at your SCEP URL, give it the serial number as the identifier, and it generates its own cert and uses it for EAP-TLS testing. Bind the cert profile to the wired or wireless interface and you're done.
I'd rather have a vendor solve this now than discover it in a panic three years from now.
6 GHz Testing That Auto-Configures From the Beacon
Until recently, testing WPA3-Enterprise on a 6 GHz SSID from a sensor meant manually setting every cipher combination, AKM, pair-wise, group cipher, PMF, to match exactly what the AP was advertising. Miss one, the sensor won't associate.
WyeBot now reads the beacon and matches the configuration automatically. You can still clone-and-modify the profile to test edge cases (and you should, especially in WPA3 transition mode), but the default does the work.
Multi-AP Testing With Smart Defaults
The sensor scans, builds the AP list sorted by signal strength, lets you set an RSSI floor so weak APs get excluded, and tests up to 10 APs round-robin. Most useful for Link Doctor, confirming a 2 AM config change didn't break VLAN assignments at a remote site without driving there.
MCP With Bring-Your-Own-LLM
Agentic AI is the loudest topic in the assurance space, and most vendors want to pipe your network data into their training set. WyeBot picked the privacy-preserving path: they host the MCP server, you bring your own LLM tokens (Claude, Gemini, Etc., you choose).
Your data stays out of someone else's model. That's the correct architecture choice.
The Verdict
WyeBot's update was less about flashy AI and more about the unglamorous enterprise work: SCEP, audit logs, read-only users, IPv6 across more tests, smart speed-test scheduling so synthetic tests don't crush your back haul. For a vendor-neutral assurance overlay, this is the kind of release that actually makes your day shorter, and prepares you for the 47-day cert future before it arrives.
