Ookla has announced a new service to 'certify' the Wi-Fi in public-facing properties like hotels and venues. Called 'Speedtest Certified™ , this combination of a service and product is something that can help consumers and users understand better the Wi-Fi they can expect at their favorite venues.
It starts with an on-site survey to document coverage, capacity and speeds to compare against pre-defined standards. This work also includes performance testing, and an audit of the hardware, firmware and ISP backhaul to meet these standards.
These on-site assessments will be completed by Speedtest Certified™ accredited professionals, and end with a SpeedTest Certified™ Score.
