The WLAN Pros Toolbox Is Free on Five Platforms

By Keith Parsons, CWNE #3 · 2026-07-07 · originally on LinkedIn

The WLAN Pros Toolbox is now free across five platforms: iOS, macOS, Android, Windows, and the web.

No account, and nothing to buy. Free... Gratis.

I built it because I was tired of carrying a separate app for every network test or calculation I do on a job. Now it's one app, 100+ tools, on every device you own.

Inside you'll find:

Live Wi-Fi analysis: RSSI, noise, SNR, data rate, channel, width, and band, plus a Test My Connection tool that tells you whether the slow Wi-Fi is the Wi-Fi or the internet feeding it. (plus the ability to copy/paste the results to send to tech support)

RF and Wi-Fi calculators: antenna length, EIRP, free-space path loss, link budget, Fresnel zone, dBm to watts, and more...

Network utilities: ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, subnet and CIDR math, HTTP status codes.

Field and Trade Reference, electrical and cabling references for the job site, plus interactive decoders that read a NEMA plug code or a vendor model number back to you.

Reference: a 92-term glossary with both IEEE and Wi-Fi Alliance names, laminated PDF cards, curated educational resources, and a spectrum-analysis reference module.

Each tool fully documented, and includes the ability to download PDFs of many of the graphics and resources.

Every calculation runs on your device. The privacy label reads "Data Not Collected," and it's honest. Turn off your device's radio, and the calculators still work.

The live tools, Check My Connection and Wi-Fi analysis, run in the native apps where they can reach your radio; the web version gives you every calculator, reference, and the glossary, fully offline. If your OS of choice doesn't support a tool, we tell you, not make up a number to make it look complete.

Put it on your home screen. The next time you're on a job and need a fast network check, or want to prove where a slowdown actually lives, it's right there.

What additional tools or resources would you like to see added to the toolbox?
