Working with the WLAN Pi team, as well as the great folks at Orb - my partner and friend Ferney Munoz and I have been working on a very cool solution that takes advantage of the Orb platform, and the WLAN Pi device.
We now have running on WLAN Pi R4's, M4+'s and Pros a 'dual-stack' solution that has both an Ethernet Orb and a Wi-Fi Orb client - both reporting at the same time back to the Orb dashboard.
You can see, compare, and track the wired and wireless infrastructure from a specific location using an inexpensive RPi-based Single-Board-Computer and a Wi-Fi NIC.
Additionally, this setup also allows for remote packet captures using Adrian Granados AirTool or Bill Bushong NetViews - as well as remote detailed Wi-Fi analysis using WiFi Explorer Pro 3 - including remote Spectrum Analysis using either MetaGeek or NetAlly USB-based Spectrum Analysis devices.
