we've always known it is better to design Wi-Fi with directional antennas... but it has added extra costs, costs for the external-antenna-capable Access Point, cost for the external antennas, costs for slightly more design work, and costs for the additional installation costs for mounting and aiming the external antennas.
Now we can get those same improvements without the additional costs.
