Just because Wi-Fi does not need multi-gig, is NOT a reason to refrain from upgrading to new switches. Newer AP's require much higher levels of PoE... like PoE++ so you might be needing to upgrade your access layer switches anyway, why not go with multi-gig? Plus, there may be times in the future that extra headroom could be useful.
